Hey there I’m Aaliyah, It's lovely to meet you! Here’s a little back story to help you get to know me! I’m 19 years old and for the past 5 years have worked towards a career in neuroscience. Although this has always been my main dream, everyone who knows me actually knows me for my creativity & art!
Unfortunately over the past year, my health has taken a turn. I’ve been diagnosed with over 6 different chronic illnesses & I’m under investigation for at least 10 more. Realistically, all of these chronic illnesses combined means I’d never thrive working for someone else in a 9-5. It's safe to say I’m used to having needles and all sorts sticking in and out of me, even while designing!
I very quickly realised that my original career choice of neuroscience was no longer a realistic option. This is why I finally made the decision to take my lifelong passion and turn it into my dream job, & I’ve loved every minute since!
Like you, when I started doing research on how to get into the design industry, I was overwhelmed with many different resources, all telling me how to do the same thing, but in 100 different ways! Everyone works differently, which is why I've simplified my creative process so it's easy to understand (I know what it's like to start from scratch). Giving you all of the resources you could ever need along with tutorials and explanations using the same consistent processes, shortcuts & workflow. This is what makes them easy to follow!
You can take skills you learn in one course & apply them to every aspect of your own design process as you develop it. I'm not just another mentor. I'm not going to tell you what to do. Being a total beginner in design and illustrator, Aaliyah’s course was just what I needed and it was perfect! I have tried learning myself and using YouTube and googling every question I had before but wow that took forever and I never really got my answer. Coming across this course it was a no brainer!
